COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Columbus Bicycle Co-Op, Indiana’s only not-for-profit community bike garage, will host an open house on Sunday, May 4, at its garage in the United Way Building, 1531 13th St., Suite B100, in Columbus.
The co-op invites the community to visit this hidden gem. The space is available to work on your bike, with or without help. It also has bikes for sale.
To celebrate the open house, the co-op will sell kids’ bikes (20″ and under) for $10 each and provide a free helmet for those who need a new one. Adult bikes will also be discounted by 25% during the open house.
The Columbus Bicycle Co-Op strives to make bicycling an affordable and sustainable means of transportation and recreation for all residents of Bartholomew County and the surrounding area.
The organization sells used bikes, has a fully equipped workshop where you can work on your bike, and accepts donations of bikes in any condition. While the co-op doesn’t offer tune-up services and won’t have someone repair your bike for you, the staff will help you learn to do it yourself.
