COLUMBUS, Ind. – Indiana’s largest women’s recovery residence is expanding its impact with a third home scheduled to open in Bartholomew County in 2026. The nonprofit also has locations in Indianapolis and Jasper.
The groundbreaking for Dove House of Bartholomew County is this Friday, April 25, at 2:30 p.m., at the Corner of Pavilion Drive and Marr Road, in Columbus. Bridge to Dove Board President Mark Teike, Dove Recovery for Women CEO Wendy Noe, and Force Construction Senior Architect David Force will speak at the ceremony.
Dove Recovery House for Women empowers females to become substance-free, self-sufficient, and healthy by providing safe, no-cost housing, high-quality programming, and hope for the future. Dove House, established in 2000, has become the largest recovery residence for women in the state of Indiana and is certified as a Level IV Recovery Residence through the Indiana Alliance for Recovery Residences. Since 2015, Bartholomew County has united courts, funders, schools, and service providers to strengthen its response to substance use disorder. While local recovery resources have expanded, a major gap remained: there were no intensive recovery housing options (NARR Level IV) for women with the highest needs. In 2021, a community group formed Bridge to Dove to address this gap. They partnered with Dove Recovery House for Women and launched a fundraising effort to bring its proven, no-cost recovery model to Columbus.
