GREENWOOD, Ind. – The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) executed a search warrant on Thursday morning in the 1300 block of South Morgantown Rd., in Greenwood.
The JCSO Narcotics Division received credible information regarding illegal activities at this residence. After a thorough investigation to confirm these allegations, detectives applied for and were granted a search warrant for the address.
During the search by the JSCO SWAT Team, detectives supposedly located illegal narcotics and drug paraphernalia inside the home. The occupant, Kanji Edison, 43, was taken into custody and is facing pending charges. All evidence and case details will be presented to the Johnson County Prosecutor’s Office for review and possible criminal charges.
Sheriff Duane E. Burgess said, “Criminal activity of this nature will not be tolerated in Johnson County. For those who voiced concerns about this individual’s actions, this should demonstrate that law enforcement is committed to ensuring the safety of our residents. Investigations take time, but we will do what is necessary to build strong cases and bring offenders to justice.”
This operation was a joint effort involving multiple agencies. The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team consists of members of the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, Bargersville Police Department. Edinburgh Police Department, Franklin Police Department, Bargersville Fire Department, and White River Fire Department.
