NEW ALBANY, Ind. – Officers took a Floyd County woman into custody for Child Sexual Trafficking and other felony charges last week following an Indiana State Police (ISP) investigation.
The ISP Indiana Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) task force received a cyber tip of possible child sexual abuse in February. The tip indicated that an adult was possibly exploiting a child for sex via an online dating app.
Troopers and ISP detectives applied for and were granted a search warrant for data associated with the tip.
The investigation led investigators with the Indiana Department of Child Services (DCS) to speak with 37-year-old Kristina S. McAdams of New Albany. Detectives collected a cell phone as evidence, and DCS removed a child from the residence.
The cell phone and information gathered during the search were forwarded to the Floyd County Prosecutor’s Office.
Floyd County Superior Court issued an arrest warrant for Kristina McAdams on April 17 for one count of Child Sexual Trafficking (Level 2 Felony), one count of Promotion of Sexual Trafficking of a Younger Child (Level 3 Felony), and one count of Promoting Prostitution (Level 5 Felony).
McAdams was remanded into the Floyd County Jail without incident.
