INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Department of Workforce Development (DWD) announced this week that the February unemployment rates for Bartholomew, Johnson, Jennings, and Jackson counties remained fairly steady compared to January.
For Bartholomew County, the February rate was 4.4%, the same as in January. The county reported 38,127 employed residents out of a 39,890-person labor force.
Johnson County’s February rate was 3.7%, again identical to the January rate. Employed workers totaled 85,359 from a possible 88,659.
Jackson County recorded a February unemployment rate of 3.7%, lower than the 3.9% registered last month. The county reported 22,661 employed residents out of a 23,541-person labor force.
The Jennings County rate for February was 4.9%, a decrease from January’s 5.1%. There were 14,396 workers out of a possible 15,137.
Indiana DWD officials announced last week that the overall Hoosier unemployment rate for February was 4.3%, down slightly from 4.4% in January.
